Oli is cycling the SHROPSHIRE HIGHLAND CHALLENGE on Sunday 8th June.

He is in training to cycle 66 miles from Ludlow, with a climb of 6,500 feet, to raise money to buy Oxygen concentrators for Kagando Hospital.

Oli writes –

We have just come back from a visit to Kagando Hospital in Uganda where we found that Oxygen was in short supply on the wards. Several of the Concentrators (which extract and concentrate oxygen from the air) are old and no longer working properly. The alternative is expensive cylinders, which patients have to pay for.

This shortage is particularly a problem on the Children’s Ward and on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Some of these tiny premature babies need oxygen for several weeks until their lungs mature, and may not survive without it. Many families just do not have the money to pay for oxygen cylinders in the poor rural area.

The money I raise will help the hospital to buy 6 new concentrators specifically for the paediatric and neonatal wards.
