Continued Medical Education (CME) took rather a back seat during the Covid pandemic but has nowrevived, with plenty of teaching  on the wards, in the education centre or in the chapel at least once a week.

As well as the junior doctors many of the other paramedical staff are involved and it is good to see how many are keen to take part. There is a CME WhatsApp group to make organisation easier, with presentations of interesting cases as well as mortality and morbidity data for the different departments. Anyone who has attended a specialised course will share their knowledge at a CME session (eg  treating diabetes in children, management of Hepatitis C, dealing with acute anxiety). Visiting doctors are very welcome to come along – to talk about an area of special interest to them, but also to learn from the local doctors.
