We have just heard the good news!
Kagando Hospital has been rated as being in the top three general hospitals in Uganda.
Friend of Kagando Trustee, and Deputy Medical Director at Kagando Hospital Dr Rob Morris writes; ‘the criteria on which this assessment was made cover a variety of factors, including the regular statistics that we send into the Ministry of Health, and an inspection of the treatment given to patients. We look around and see many, many things that need attention and improvement but, Wow!, this is encouraging!
I would ask for your continued prayers, specifically that you give thanks for the faithful service of so many – especially
- our present group of middle grade and junior doctors, who are really conscientious and caring, led by Medical Director Dr Mary Munyagwa (currently on Maternity Leave – pray for her, her husband Asinja, and their little baby boy, Arthur)
- key team leaders in Outpatients, ICU, Neonatal and children’s, maternity, surgical and medical wards, Pharmacy, Community Outreach, Electricity, Maintenance and Repairs and more…
- Faithful prayer and generous donors; Kagando has struggled with its finances for many years – delivering health care to a very poor population with very little government support will never be easy, and the past year is no exception – patient debt to the hospital has risen to over £62,500. Without incredibly faithful and overwhelmingly generous support the hospital would have failed
“And above all, thank God for His amazing provision, protection (especially at this time from Ebola and Terrorist attack, risks from both of which are currently at a very high level) and day to day grace, mercy and leading.”
