We are looking for a new Treasurer for Friends of Kagando. Anna has been doing a brilliant job for several years, but it is time for her to move on. Ideally this person would be an accountant – possibly recently retired and looking for a new project !!

Anna says the time needed is about 3 – 4 days a month on average, plus attending 4 x yearly Trustee meetings (currently alternate Zoom and in person).

The main categories of the work are:-

  1. Financial management of the charity – including reporting and advice and insight to trustees
  2. Budget development and tracking
  3. Internal controls and compliance
  4. Book-keeping
  5. Bank payments
  6. End of year accounts and statutory reporting (including to the Charities Commission)
  7. Gift Aid and donor database management

Anna is expecting to provide a comprehensive handover and some ongoing support if needed. I hope she would agree that we are a friendly, happy and supportive team to work with, and that the work, though sometimes challenging, is interesting and worthwhile.

If we are unable to recruit a Treasurer we will be looking for a book-keeper who can deal with the routine transactions and prepare regular reports with the more strategic parts of the role being covered by a ‘Trustee with an interest’.

If you feel called to a new challenge and would like more information then please contact us on admin@friendsofkagando.com

If you can think of anyone who might be interested in this role then please forward this email to them.

Many thanks as always for your interest in Kagando and for keeping us in your prayers
